筆者の目的は長唄の薄物形態の伝本を網羅的に調査し、それらを版種ごとに整理して目録化することである。資料の収集はすでに上田市立上田図書館・国立音楽大学附属図書館竹内道敬寄託文庫(以下竹内文庫と記載)・東京芸術大学附属図書館・東京大学教養学部黒木文庫・東京大学総合図書館霞亭文庫・東京都立中央図書館・東洋文庫・明治大学松和文庫・早稲田大学演劇博物館など長唄薄物の主要な所蔵機関における調査は済ませ、フランス国立図書館・ベルリン国立東洋美術館などからも複写を入手している。そして江戸三座の長唄薄物の版行形態について考察し、長唄の薄物をA上演時に座の専属版元が出す初版、Bこれを直ちに流用して版行した本屋儀兵衛版・無刊記版、C上演後に主に稽古本の目的で出された版に分類した。AとBついては博士論文でまとめてあり、本研究はこれを受けてCの整理が中心となる。歌舞伎の上演年表を作る際にはAが主体となるが、地本おける版権の確立過程を知る上でCは重要な資料群であり、異版が多く存在し覆刻関係も複雑である。したがって、版の識別を正確に行うには早稲田大学演劇博物館本か、国立音楽大学附属図書館竹内文庫本の複写を入手することが必要と判断し、国際日本文化研究センターの図書館を通じて昨年の9月に両所蔵機関に対し複写の申し込みを打診した。早稲田大学演劇博物館からは、大量の複写申し込みにつき難色を示されたが事情を伝えて会議にかけられ、12月に200点ごと数回に分けての複写申し込みをするかたちで許可を得られた。初回の紙焼きを2月に入手している。国立音楽大学附属図書館からは大量の複写申し込みに対応しないとの返答があり現地で突合せ作業を行うが、竹内文庫本は筆者が整理した経緯があり、約８割の資料は閲覧済みである。早稲田大学演劇博物館から紙焼きが入手できるため、諸本の校合はかなり正確に行え、目録化の作業は順調に進むであろう。

A/B's doctoral thesis was compiled by A/C's doctoral thesis, and this research was organized by A/C's Center for Compilation.
