Anthropological Study on youth security and cultural heritage in contemporary Africa

本研究提供了当代非洲社会中青年人的民族志描述，并阐明了他们的传统或当地教育制度与他们对传统文化的行为之间的关系。在此基础上，我们对非洲传统教育体系的潜力进行了重新评估，并为非洲传统文化再生产环境的重建提供了一些指导，共同基础教育对于促进“人类安全”或“人类发展”所指的“赋权”具有重要意义。然而，与此同时，不应低估非洲社会传统和地方教育制度的多样性和多重意义。本研究建议，我们最好将共同基础教育与那些传统的和地方性的教育体系结合起来，而不是简单地否定那些传统的和地方性的教育体系，并试图使共同基础教育熟悉非洲社会。基于这三个财政年度的研究结果和讨论，本研究不仅对人类学和非洲研究领域做出了小小的贡献，而且还涉及“人的安全”和“人的发展”的研究。

This study has offered ethnographic descriptions of the youth peoples in contemporary African societies and clarified relationships between their traditional or local educational systems and their behaviors toward their traditional cultures. Then we reevaluated the potential of African traditional educational systems and offered some guidelines for the reconstruction of the environment in which the youth can play their roles for reproductions of traditional cultures.The common basic education is really important for the promotion of so-called "empowerment" suggested by "human security" or "human development". However, at the same time, diverse and multiple significances of traditional and local educational systems of African societies should not be underestimated. This study suggest that we had better unite the common basic education to those traditional and local educational systems, rather than simply deny those traditional and local educational systems and try to familiarize common basic education to African societies.Based on the results and discussions of this 3 fiscal years, this study has made a small contribution not only to the field of anthropology and African studies, but also to the studies concerning with "human security' as well as "human development".
