Professional Development for Indigenous Teachers in Australia under the promotion of National Achievement Tests

本研究的目的是探讨澳大利亚昆士兰州原住民教师如何透过专业发展来提升和培养其教学能力。以前的研究指出，土著教师为学生取得主流社会所需的教育成果和培养他们的土著文化遗产和多样性作出了贡献。然而，随着国家成绩测试的推广以及识字和算术等基本学术领域国家标准的制定，人们强调，每一位教师，无论其背景如何，都应具备一定程度的知识和能力。

The aim of this research is to consider how Indigenous teachers' teaching abilities are improved and fostered through Professional Development (PD) in Queensland, Australia. Previous research pointed out that Indigenous teachers contribute for students both to achieve educational outcomes needed in the mainstream society and to foster their Indigenous cultural heritages and diversities. However, with the promotion of National Achievement Tests and the establishment of the national standards in the basic academic areas such as literacy and numeracy, it is emphasized that every teacher regardless of their backgrounds should have a certain levels of knowledge and abilities.
