Dental pulp stem cells (DPSCs) and cryopreserved DPSCs were nearly equal to bone-marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells in cell proliferation and pluripotency. Both cells showed well-formed bone regeneration by transplantation with the extracellular matrix modified scaffold in bone defects. It was suggested that DPSCs were useful cell source for bone regeneration using tissue engineering technology.
