项目摘要

本研究は、1970年代に日本と韓国でそれぞれ小劇場運動をしていた二つの劇団、「転形劇場」(日本)と「エジョト」(韓国)を取り上げ、上演した戯曲を中心に二つの劇団を比較・考察するものである。二年目には「転形劇場」の主宰者である太田省吾の演劇思想の側面をこれまで以上に精査しつつ、一年目に引き続き、文献調査および戯曲、上演映像、批評、プログラム、チラシ、チケットなどの公演関連資料調査を行った。具体的には、早稲田大学演劇博物館所蔵の上演資料及び遺族所蔵の資料を用い、太田省吾の演劇論書『飛翔と懸垂』（而立書房、1975）、『裸形の劇場』(而立書房、1980)、『動詞の陰翳』(白水社、1983)などを検討しつつ、太田作の戯曲『小町風伝』(1977)と『裸足のフーガ』(1980)を分析・考察した。『小町風伝』については、韓国にて上演された当作品を、舞台における劇言語と身体表現に焦点を当てながら比較・分析した。『裸足のフーガ』については、前年度に行った『抱擁ワルツ』（1979）における「生命存在」の表し方とそのプロセスについて考えつつ、さらに太田の作品における「間」の使用がもたらす劇的効果について考えようとした。これらの研究過程を経て、太田省吾の演劇思想と戯曲の関係性が明確になり、彼の劇言語が持つ独自性が明らかになりつつある。研究成果として、『演劇学論叢』に論文（「太田省吾作『小町風伝』――韓国の舞台にて」）を掲載し、早稲田大学演劇博物館紀要『演劇研究』掲載予定の論文（「「表現」としての言語――太田省吾作『抱擁ワルツ』（1979）と『裸足のフーガ』（1980）における言葉」）を執筆した。また、これまでの研究成果を博士学位論文としてまとめることができた。一方、「エジョト」については、収集してきた1970年代の上演台本（個人蔵）の複数の作家について調査を行っている。
