二年目は、前年に引き続き、ベルクソンに固有の哲学史観を形成する原理であるところの、彼の直観論について研究を進めた。前年の研究で明らかにしたように、ベルクソンの直観論には、対象の直接認識に関する側面と、作品の創造に関する側面とがある。彼にとっての哲学史とは、この直観を原理とする、哲学者による作品創造の歴史として捉えることができる。ところで、ベルクソンは著作の随所で、「作文（composition）」についての独創的な理論を提示している。作文とは、思考を言葉で表現することであるが、彼はこの作文のイメージに基づいて独自の「直観」の概念を形成していったと考えられるのである。そこで今年度は、彼が「作文」や「書くこと」について語ったテキストを調査・整理し、思考を言葉にすることの意義がどのように捉えられているかについて探究した。この研究によって、ベルクソンを言語に対して批判的な哲学者と見ていた従来の研究とは異なる見解が獲得できた。すなわち、たしかに初期のベルクソンは言語に対して批判的な立場をとっていたが、独自の哲学史観と直観論が形成されていくにつれて、彼は直観を言語化することの意義を次第に積極的・肯定的に捉えるようになったのである。この研究成果を、「思考を言葉にすること――ベルクソン哲学における作文の問題」と題して学会で発表した。今後の研究では、ベルクソンにこのような言語に対する態度の変化を生じさせた要因が何であったかを、特にコレージュ・ド・フランス講義録と関連付けて、明らかにさせたい。
