全般的な知的発達の遅れがないにもかかわらず、読み書きに困難が生じる障害を「発達性読み書き障害」と呼ぶ。本研究の目的は、発達性読み書き障害のある成人への科学的根拠に基づく支援方法の提案を目指すことである。令和4年度においては、主に書字の主観的困難度と非流暢性、その背景となる認知能力の関連性を検討するため、発達性読み書き障害のある成人を対象として以下の研究活動を行った。I) 質問紙調査：書字に対する主観的困難度について質問紙調査を実施した。評定尺度には、Visual Analogue Scaleを用い、幅10cmの線分の右端を「簡単」、左端を「難しい」と定義した。当てはまる位置に斜線を引くよう教示し、線分の右端から斜線までの距離（cm）を主観的書字困難度の評定値とした。II) 読み書き実験：単語属性を統制したひらがなおよび漢字単語を用い、読み書き流暢性測定実験を行った。具体的には、音読・写字（視写）・書取（聴写）課題を行い、刺激提示から反応終了までの所要時間を流暢性の指標とした。III) 認知検査：音韻認識検査、視覚認知検査、語彙検査等の認知検査を実施した。各検査得点を認知能力の指標とした。IV) I) ～ III)において得られたデータを分析し、研究成果の一部を第21回発達性ディスレクシア研究会において発表した。発達性読み書き障害のある成人に関して、I) 質問紙調査における主観的書字困難度は、II) 読み書き実験における書字（写字・書取）流暢性や、III) 認知検査における視覚認知検査の結果と関連があることが明らかとなった。すなわち、書字に対する主観的困難度は書字能力の客観的評価値を反映しており、その背景には視覚認知能力の弱さがあることが推定された。今後は書字能力と読字能力の関連を検討するとともに、さらに健常成人のデータを取得し、健常群と障害群の比較検討を行う予定である。
