本研究では、23条通報前から措置入院診察後までの当該者家族が経験する体験の実態把握、そして措置入院が不要となり医療保護入院ともならない当該者家族の実態や思いを把握し、具体的な支援に必要な関連要因を探索することである。精神保健福祉法における措置入院という日本独自の強制入院形態では、精神疾患の急性憎悪に伴う、自傷他害行動に対して強制力を発動する。この自傷他害行動の一番近くにいるのが患者家族であることが多く、他害行動の被害を受けることも少なくない。しかし措置入院とならず、患者の自傷・他害行為が未解決のまま帰宅し、その後の対応を迫られる家族が一定数存在し、さらにその増加の可能性も示唆されている。これまで、措置入院形態から入院につながった精神疾患患者家族の実態は報告されている一方で、入院に至らなかった患者の家族は、医療、福祉の届きにくさ故に、その実態がほとんど明らかにされていない。本年度は当初の計画に基づき調査準備として、措置入院制度の事前担当者が所属する自治体の精神保健福祉課救急医療係の方とつながり、対象候補者が所属していると思われる患者家族会を複数紹介して頂いた。それぞれの家族会の代表者へ研究協力の概要を説明し、研究協力依頼を行った。また本研究に関連する学会に参加し、措置入院制度に関する医療・福祉・看護の情報を収集した。また上記、精神保健福祉課救急医療係と当研究に関連する内容として、措置入院制度の対象となる未成年者の実態についての共同研究契約を締結し、合同研究を進めていくこととなった。
