A study on the role of the mass media in totalitarianization of Soviet architecture

本研究的重点是大众传媒在20世纪30年代至50年代苏联建筑极权化进程中的作用。它主要涉及斯大林在1935年为大规模重建旧城而通过的根本性计划(总计划)下涉及极大改变莫斯科的建筑期刊和电影。这项研究清楚地表明，媒体上的话语和图像产生了永远不可能实现的新理想首都的拟像，它们在神话中将莫斯科神话化为苏联的绝对中心起到了关键作用。

This study focused on the roles of the mass media in the process of totalitarianization of Soviet architecture between the 1930s and the 1950s. It mainly dealt with architectural journals and films concerned to greatly changing Moscow under the Stalin's Genplan (General Plan), which was adopted in 1935 for large-scale reconstruction of the old city.It became clear in this study that discourses and images in the media produced simulacra of the new ideal capital, which would never be realized, and that they played a crucial role to mythicize Moscow as the absolute center of the USSR.
