项目摘要

本研究の目的は、2014年1月より刷新されたシンガポールのシチズンシップ教育における「宗教理解学習」の理念と実態を中等教育段階に着目して検証することであった。平成26年度は、シンガポールの中学校における「宗教理解学習」の理念と制度的枠組みを検証することをねらいとした。このねらいを達成するために、本年度は、シンガポールの国立図書館（National Library）ならびに教員養成機関である国立教育研究所（National Institute of Education）の付属図書館において関連資料の収集を行った。収集した資料をもとに、第一に、2014年に刷新されたシチズンシップ教育の改革理念と、そこで求められる「宗教理解学習」の理念を、政策文書、新聞記事、シラバス等の分析から明らかにし、第二に、中学校のシチズンシップ教育における新たな「宗教理解学習」の制度的位置づけを、カリキュラムおよびシラバス分析を通して検証した。また、シンガポールにおける道徳教育からシチズンシップ教育への転換についての現状を踏まえるうえで、同国の学校教員へのインタビューを実施した。分析の視点は、①2014年に刷新されたシチズンシップ教育は、どのような改革理念のもとで、旧来のシチズンシップ教育の何を課題とし、何を刷新したのか、②新シチズンシップ教育に求められる新たな「宗教理解学習」とはどのようなものであり、旧来のそれと、理念的にどのような連続性、断絶性が見られるのか、③中学校の新シチズンシップ教育における新たな「宗教理解学習」が制度的にどのような位置づけにあるのか、④新たな「宗教理解学習」に求められている望ましい「宗教理解」とはどのようなものであるのか、それがいかなる実践によって目指されているのか、という4点である。本研究の成果は、平成27年度の関連学会において発表予定である。
