電子テキストの生成と高次化につき、整定・校訂・注釈・書誌情報などにつき、データ生成の方法と形式の問題などについて検討し、理想とする複合的な電子データのありかたりについての基礎的な研究の方法について方針を策定した。これに基づき、以下の課題につき、研究を開始した。書誌情報に関するメタデータの付加については、全く新しい試みであるため、まず計測のために必要な機器類の選定についての検討・研究を行った。それに基づき、メジャーやスケール、温湿度計などを準備し、試験的な運用を開始した。この試行により、機器の適正、計測の方法、計測環境による変化などに関する実測データを蓄積し、その結果を多角的に検討することで、実際の運用に向けての研究を継続している。特に、実測データの持つ意味については、従来の蓄積がないため、慎重な検討を行っている。電子テキストの高度化については、国文学研究資料館蔵山鹿文庫の山鹿素行自筆本『中朝事実』を底本として行い、更には注釈情報を付加するかたちを模索つつ検討を重ねながら、試験的に作業を進めている。またその諸本の所在の確認と調査を行い、校訂作業に資する情報を収集している。上記のような各論にあたる研究を開始し、それぞれの研究を相互に関連付けるため、統括班において情報と成果を集約し、分担者相互の連絡をはかりながら、データの形式や作成方法についての調整を行った。これにより、当該研究を推進するために必要不可欠な情報と研究方法の基盤を構築した。
