Interplay of Regional Forest Regimes: combining qualitative & quantitative insights on regional powers

The project aims to further the knowledge produced on regional forest regimes in an earlier project phase. In particular it aims at:1. Analysing interactions among global & regional forest regime policiesby i) conceptualising possible models of global-regional regime interplay, ii) identifying major cases of global-regional regime interplay in selected regimes, iii) analysing regional powers and forest powers in selected regimes and iv) analysing selected cases of interplay and explain them by regional bureaucracies’, regional powers’ and forest powers’ interests and capabilities.2. Mapping the full population of regional forest regimes, their interplay with global regimes, and explaining their forest policies by i) identifying & inventorying the full population of regional forest regimes worldwide, ii) analysing their current interplay with global regimes, iii) the institutional design and forest policy of regional forest regimes, and iv) scrutinizing the influence of institutional design, regional bureaucracies, regional powers and their foreign forest policies on the regimes’ forest policies
