In this studies, the flow analysis around rotating blade of wind turbine and the effect on the flow by blade configurations and operating condition are investigated experimentally. The usual wind turbine blades are designed with airfoil chord arrangement paralleled to a tangential line of the rotor. In this case, the blade has some twist angle in the pitch axis and three-dimensional configurations, however the assumed flow is two-dimensional. The radial flow is not accounted for the blade design. We assumed that the radial flow o the blade causes the less performance of the airfoil section. In these studies, the airfoil sections are arranged acordings to the local flow direction of the rotating blade. This blade arrangement shows full performance of the airfoil section and the rotor performance will be increased. This three-dimensional blade is tested in the wind tunnel (φ3.6m). The flow around blade is measured with LDV (f=2000mm). The 4 sets of blades are tested.[1] Taper twist blade with NACA4418[2] Taper twist blade with multiple airfoils[3] three-dimensional arrangement A with [2][4] three-dimensional arrangement B with [2]In analysis, the velocities around blade are expressed with 3D vectors. The Local circulation, vorticity and turbulences are investigated.
