A Basic Study on Town Plans in Modern Japan

我们编制了两种近代日本城市规划目录。应该将其命名为“详细目录”，它是通过对原计划的调查而编制的，其中包含有关每个计划的大量信息。另一个应该被命名为“联合目录”，由几个主要图书馆收集的城镇规划组成。通过仔细检查这两个目录，我们可以发现以下事实：1）一般地图/计划的数量比专题地图/计划的数量要多得多，2）现代日本城市制作的专题地图/计划包括i）目录地图/计划，显示商店，商店，工厂和其他一些机构的位置，ii）地籍地图，iii）住宅地图，这是典型的在日本，3）岐阜县立图书馆收藏了非常丰富的现代城镇规划。基于这两个目录，我们对整个日本的趋势做了一些考虑，并结合两个县的案例；北海道（山田）和岛根（天野）。我们的研究发展到新的范围，“城镇规划作为研究材料”。 Kanasaka的论文和Ogata的论文就是针对这一点的。

We have compiled two kinds of catalog of town plans on modern Japan. One should be named "a detailed catalog" which is compiled through the investigation of original plans, and contains much information about each plan. The other should be named "a union catalog" which consists of several major libraries' collection of town plan.By a close inspection of these two catalogs, we could find out following facts : 1)General map/plan was made much more in number than topical map/plan, 2)Topical map/plans made in Modern Japanese cities include i)directory map/plan which shows the location of stores, shops, factories, and some other institutions, ii)cadastral map, iii)residence map, which is typical in Japan, 3)Gifu Prefectural Library has very much extensive collection of modern town plan.Based on these two catalogs, we made several consideration for the whole Japanese trend, together with two Prefecture's cases ; Hokkaido (by Yamada) and Shimane (by Amano).Our study develops to the new scope, "town plan as a research material". Kanasaka's paper and Ogata's paper aim at this point.
