Community Education in the globalizing Asia

本研究项目将“全球化”定义为“人”、“资源”、“金钱”和“思想”超越国界的运动，旨在阐明这种全球化如何改变不同社区特有的传统价值观和文化，以及生活在那里的人们如何应对这些变化，以及他们如何将这些变化作为学习问题重新创造出来。2003财政年度，我们的项目成员向日本成人与社区教育研究学会50周年全国年会特别研讨会提交了“主题提案”，并在京都大学召开了研讨会，讨论了我们研究的合作方式。同时，每个成员都在美国、中国、韩国和台湾进行了研究。2004财年，为了通过分析教育内容和教育方法来明确全球化对社区教育实践变革的实质性影响，我们在泰国、中国、韩国和台湾进行了实地调研，并对这一主题进行了文献研究。在东京和京都先后举行的五次研究会议上，我们对研究结果进行了讨论，发现在这些地区，共同的主题（劳动、健康、福利、和平、生态、性别、性、信息技术、人口问题）正在超越国界成为社区教育的学习问题并被重新确立。研究项目的结果被安排在最终报告中。

This research project defines ‘globalization' as the movement of ‘people', ‘resources', ‘money' and ‘ideas' beyond the national boundaries, and aims to clarify how such a globalization changes the traditional values and cultures peculiar in the various communities, and how people living there react those changes, and how they recreate them as learning problems.In 2003 fiscal year, the members of our project gave the "Keynote Proposal" to Japan Society for the Study of Adult and Community Education special symposium in celebration of its 50^<th> annual national conference and held a symposium in Kyoto University and discussed the way of the collaboration of our research. At the same time, each of the members carried out the research in USA, China, Korea, and Taiwan.In 2004 fiscal year, in order to clarify the substantial impact of the globalization to the change of the practice in community education by analyzing the educational content and method, we carried out the on-site research in Thailand, China, Korea and Taiwan, as well as research of literature on this subject. In the meetings for the study which were held five times in Tokyo and Kyoto, we discussed result of the research and found that the common subjects (labor, health, welfare, peace, ecology, gender, sexuality, information technology, population problem) are appearing and being reestablished as learning problems in community education in these areas beyond the national boundaries.The result of the research project was arranged in the final report.
