We have investigated magnetic computing systems that use magnetic phenomena for the computing.(1)Shapes of the magnetic cells are investigated with using micro magnetics simulation. The results show that elliptic cells with aspect ratio of 1:2 easily transmit the information and hold the information of "0" and "1".(2)Magnetic logic gate consists of 4 elliptic cells, that size are 80 nm x 40 nm, can compute the information that is put into 3 magnetic cells. The result of the computing is indicated in another magnetic cell. The computing is performed with magnetostatic interaction among the magnetic cells.(3)When the information that put into one magnetic cell of magnetic logic gate is "0", the magnetic logic gate works as NOR gate. On the other hand, when the information that put into one magnetic cell is "1", the magnetic logic gate works as NAND gate.(4)The experimental results of fabricating the magnetic logic gates show that the circular cells and elliptic cells have low magnetic switching fields, and thus the circular cells and elliptic cells are suitable for magnetic cells for the point of view of low field working. However, the circular cells have a tendency to have vortex magnetic states. Therefore, the circular cells are not suitable for the magnetic cells of magnetic logic gates.
