Enlightenment and Uncivilizedness in Aesthetics : Toward Reconstruction of History of Aesthetics From a Contemporary Viewpoint

在申请时，本研究计划设定了三个任务：1.追溯“启蒙”在现代美学史上的谱系2.阐明“野蛮”在现代美学中的作用3.考察“启蒙”因素与“未开化“因素之间的冲突方面第一个任务是在《美学评论》（2004）和《人文评论》（2006）上发表的两篇文章中，从“启蒙”的角度阐述了康德和鲁莫尔在现代美学史上的作用，第二个任务是在《人文评论》（2003）上发表的文章中;第三部分是在北美和欧洲国家的博物馆和展览（以及双年展）中收集到的大量有趣的材料。此外，在2004年里约热内卢第16届美学大会的演讲中交流了各种有价值的信息和意见，成功地完成了这一任务。在最后的研究报告中，包括了基于这些研究成果的八篇文章。这些文章也将在网页上向公众开放。我想在未来的一段时间里继续研究这个主题。

At the time of application, following three tasks were set in this research project :1.Tracing the genealogy of "enlightenment" in the history of modern aesthetics2.Elucidating the role played by the "savage" in modern aesthetics3.Investigating the aspects of the conflict between the elements of "enlightenment" and those of "uncivilizedness"The first task was tackled in the two articles published in "Aesthetics Review" (2004) and "Humanities Review" (2006), where the roles played by Kant and Rumohr from the standpoint of the "Enlightenment" in the history of modern aesthetics were explained.The next task was undertaken in the essay in "Humanities Review" (2003) ; and in the paper appeared in the proceedings of the 15th International Congress of Aesthetics (2003) ; translations of Warburg's texts ; and the article on Wittkower (2005).For the last task, a lot of interesting materials were collected in the researches made in the museums and exhibitions (and biennials) in North American and European countries. Furthermore, exchanging various valuable information and opinions at the presentation given in the 16th congress of aesthetics, Rio de Janeiro, 2004 successfully fulfilled this task.In the final research report are included eight articles based on these research results. These articles will be open to the public also on the web page. And I would like to continue the investigation of this theme for some time in the future.
