Environmental aesthetics is one of the major new fields of aesthetics to emerge in the second half of the twentieth century. The aim of the research was to constitute the environmental aesthetics guided by the environmental art. The research was realized by theoretical research of environmental aesthetics and environmental art.To gain a comprehensive background of the theoretical research of environmental aesthetics, I read extensively the writings of German romantic philosophers. My readings enabled me to define the characteristics of romantic thought that has been embedded in people's everyday thinking since 19^<th> century. As a fruit of this research, I published a translation and commentary of a study of a German romantic painter, Philipp Otto Runge.As the positive research of environmental art, I did fieldwork of environmental artworks in Britain, Denmark and Holland. Through the analyses of each work I revealed its historical development in the context of cultural and social background. In particular, I emphasized the fact that many environmental artworks have common romantic features. The present situation and future prospects surrounding these works, including the impact and effect for the communities was also examined.A report of this research was compiled.

环境美学是二十世纪后半叶兴起的重要美学新领域之一。本研究的目的是构建以环境艺术为指导的环境美学，通过对环境美学和环境艺术的理论研究来实现。为了对环境美学的理论研究有一个全面的认识，笔者广泛阅读了德国浪漫主义哲学家的著作。我的阅读使我能够定义自19^世纪以来一直嵌入人们日常思维中的浪漫主义思想的特征<th>。作为研究的成果，我出版了德国浪漫主义画家菲利普·奥托·朗格的研究论文的翻译和评论;作为环境艺术的实证研究，我在英国、丹麦和荷兰进行了环境艺术的实地考察。通过对每一部作品的分析，揭示其在文化和社会背景下的历史发展。我特别强调了一个事实，即许多环境艺术品都具有共同的浪漫特征。同时，对这些工程的现状和前景，包括对社区的影响和作用进行了分析，并编写了一份研究报告。
