今年度は、データベースの拡充を図るとともに、データベースを活用した教育プログラムの企画開発を中心に研究を進めた。１．データベース拡充について研究分担者の機関所蔵および個人所蔵の図画手工教科書や、協力を申し出ていただいた個人所蔵家の蔵書を中心に、新たに既存システムに組み込む画像データの撮影および書誌事項等の採取を進めた。特に研究分担者の蔵書について、撮影およびExcelファイルのデータ作成に取り組んだ。昭和戦前期までの初等教育用国定図画手工教科書についてのデータが得られたが、データベースへの導入作業自体は来年度になる予定である。２．教育プログラム開発について本研究におけるデータベース構築が意図するところは、近代日本図画手工教科書が有していた森羅万象の図像の提示と、それらを見て描く、また描かれたものを見るという視覚体験の提供を試みることである。その一環として今年度は、研究代表者が兼担している岡山大学学術研究院教育学域「国吉康雄記念・美術教育研究と地域創生寄付講座」(2015年設置）が実施した「国吉祭 2022 CARAVAN in 和気町」（日時：2022年11月19日11：00～16：00、場所：ENTER WAKE（エンターワケ）岡山県和気郡和気町福富）に参加し、岡山市出身の画家国吉康雄が高等小学校在学中に使用したと思われる明治30年代の毛筆画教科書を中心に近代日本図画手工教科書データベースのデモ展示を行った。同時に、明治期毛筆画教科書の図様から、和気にゆかりある「藤」や「鯉のぼり」、和気清麻呂風の古代衣装の人物像等をピックアップし、これらを手本として見ながら、毛筆を使って水墨で描くというワークショップを実施した。小学生から70歳代まで約20人の参加を得た。国吉康雄はアメリカで活躍した画家であるが、高等小学校図画科や工業学校染織科では毛筆画を学んでいたことも確認できた。
