本研究では，プログラミング言語と第2言語の学習過程に着目し，学習者の学習状態を把握することで個人ごとに最適化された学習支援システムを開発しその評価を行う．具体的には，(a)マルチモーダル学習状態把握（簡易脳波計以外の生体情報での学習状態把握），(b)複数言語の統合分析（プログラミング言語と第2言語の学習過程の統合分析），(c)言語教育システムの開発（既存基盤研究の成果と(b)により判明した言語学習法の実現をサポートする学習状態把握による個人最適化学習システムの開発），(d)実証実験による評価（第2言語班とプログラミング言語班による実証実験）を行うことが目的である．本年度は，生体情報（脳波，心拍，表情）を計測し，脳波以外の生体情報で脳波を説明することを実施した．具体的には脳波を目的変数，脳波以外の生体情報を説明変数とし，二乗平均平方根誤差（RMSE）を最小化する重回帰式を求めた．これにより脳波計を装着しなくても腕時計型のデバイスや非接触型のWebカメラ等で学習状態を把握できる可能性を示した．また，複数回（具体的には3回）の異なる実験の計測データを用いて脳波と心拍の関係を分析した．その結果「あきらめ」の感情を判定できる可能性を示唆した．これらの研究結果により主観的評価に作用されるアンケートによる評価に代わり定量的な学習評価が可能になる．第2言語としての英語とプログラミング言語の学習過程に着目した研究を開始した．まだ学会発表には至っていないが実験を開始している．具体的には，英語とプログラミング言語の課題の種類（カテゴリと呼ぶ）ごとに生体情報を取得し，両者に有意な差がないこと、および別カテゴリ間には有意な差が生じることを示し，同カテゴリでは両言語の課題遂行時に生体情報に差が出ない，すなわち研究実績の豊富な第2言語習得の様々な技術をプログラミング言語の習得に適用できる可能性を示した．
