项目摘要

本研究は,廃棄物処理と環境保全教育との係わりの重要性を明確にするとともに,大学等での環境保全,廃棄物処理,資源再利用等に関する活動を通して,環境教育の普及・啓蒙及び環境科学の増進・発展に資することを目的とした。そのため,国内外の大学間ネットワーク組織の構築と環境保全技術移転に対する技術教育・人材養成面での国際協力等について,世界の研究者・教育者・技術者が積極的に討論する必要がある。本研究では韓国,中国などのアジア途上国に焦点を絞り,廃棄物処理に関する国際会議を企画・開催したものである。会議の名称はFirst Asian Symposium on Academic Activity for Waste Treatment(AAWT)である。主催は本研究の組織員が所属する大学等廃棄物処理施設協議会であり,後援は文部省,環境科学会,日本化学会,廃棄物学会である。会議は7月31日〜8月2日に文部省国立教育会館で開催され,討論内容は廃棄物の管理手法,廃液・廃棄物の処理技術,分析計測の装置・システム,環境教育,環境行政,環境影響評価,地球環境保全と開発,大学間技術協力ネットワーク構築などであった。出席者は大学,官庁等での環境保全・廃棄物処理担当の研究者,教育者,技術者等(中国5名,韓国4名,台湾2名,タイ2名,カナダ1名,アメリカ1名及び日本125名)であり,特別講演1件,内外招待講演14件,ポスターによる発表23件の他,大学廃水・廃棄物処理施設説明発表24件に対して,熱心な討論が行われ貴重な情報が数多く得られた。詳細な講演内容は,本会議のProceedingsに記載されている。第2回Symposiumの開催は中国の予定で,国家環境保護局,国家教育委員会,中国科学院,中日友好環境保護中心,北京大学,清華大学,杭州大学,浙江大学を中心とした組織委員会が発足し,東・東南アジア地域で大学等をネットワークとした環境教育や環境保全技術移転の国際協力を展開するための基盤構築が徐々に進みつつある。
