项目摘要

本年度の研究計画調書に基づいて,三つの課題に関して以下に記したような研究成果を得た。1.オブジェクトベースシステムにおける並行処理制御機構の研究を推進するためのプラットホームとして,相互に複雑な関連をもつ動画像,アニメーション,テキスト,音声などの情報メディア各々をオブジェクトとしてとらえ,オブジェクト間の構造あるいは相互の関係を可能な限り直接的に表現したオブジェクトベースマルチメディアシステムHarmonyの構築をほぼ完成した。このシステムの関発を通じて,提案する並行処理制御方式の要件を明らかにした。2.オブジェクト指向データベース管理システム(OODBMS)に鉄して,Harmonyなどの応用システムモデルの特性を反映した新たな楽観的制御方式を提案し,従来の悲観的制御方式に基づく2相施錠方式との性能比較のもとで諸特性を明らかにした。3.オブジェクトベースシステムがCAD/CAMなど,高度応用システム開発の基盤となることが多いことを考え,このようなシステムで顕著な協調作業環境を支援する並行処理制御方式の提案を行った。特に,協調作業環境を支援する並行処理制御方式に関しては,CSCWなどとも関連してデータベースの先進的な応用分野において今後益々重要な研究テーマになるものと考えられ,さらにモデルの見直しや改良を行なうことにより,この分野への先駆的な貢献ができるものと考えている。
