次年度より実施予定の事例研究に必要な準備作業として、今年度は一部対象児の抽出と図形シンボル用伝達システムの開発を行った。(1)対象児の抽出 「会話ボード使用群」の先発事例研究の対象児として、有意味語の表出が認められず実用的伝達手段を持たない男児2名(T,K)を選んだ。2名はともに長野県内の精神薄弱養護学校に在籍する重度精神遅滞児であるが、T児(I養護学校小学部2年生)は感音性高度難聴の、K児(N養護学校高等部1年生)は小頭症の重複障害がある。「会話エイド使用群」の対象児については、今後、精神薄弱養護学絞の訪問教育対象児童の中から抽出する予定である。(2)図形シンボル用会話ボードの開発「会話ボード使用群」の対象児の内のT児について、学内の日常ルーティン活動の前後に担任教師が活動内容を指示・確認するために使用する会話ボードを作成した。T児が頻繁に関わりをもつ人物、利用頻度や興味関心の高い活動・事物・場所、合計56種を伝達スキルの指導用基本語彙として選定し図形シンボルとして図案化し、その中から担任と対象児の会話において比較的伝達価が高いと思われる20種のシンボルをB4大の厚紙に貼付し会話ボードとした。現在、基本語彙として選定した項目の妥当性を検討し、同時に、会話ボード導入前の伝達スキルを評定することを目的に、T児の学内活動場面での社会的行動を記録したビデオ映像の分析を行っている。(3)図形シンボル用会話エイドの開発 移動が困難で「寝たきり」の状態にあることの多い「会話エイド使用群」の対象児の場合、市販の会話エイドを伝達手段として使用することはかなり難しい。そこで、グラフィック機能、コントロール/インプットデバイス、音声入出力機能が充実し、大容量の記憶装置との接続も可能なパソコン(Macintosh社製)を用いて図形シンボル用会話エイドを開発した。現在、個々の対象児へ適用する際に個別的配慮が特に要求されるいくつかの側面(ディスプレイの視認性、C/Iデバイスの操作性、など)について改良を加えている。
