项目摘要

平成5年度は、3回の研究会を開き、意見・情報を交換するとともに、年間を通じて全員が本研究課題に関わる資料の収集に努めたほか、国外に出張する機会を利用して調査にも当たった。第1回の研究会では年度計画の概要を全員で打ち合わせた後、木之内が「問題の所在と確認;1950年代初頭のインドシナを手がかりに」と題して、1950年の中国-ソ連-ベトナム(ホー・チ・ミン政府)友好成立期におけるこれら3者関係の虚像と実像を検証する試論を提示し、その中で友好成立期の中越ソ3者間の一種「同床異夢」的な関係を、とりわけ中越の軍事協力の側面に力点を置きながら考察した。第2回の研究会では、五島が「ベトナム共産主義体制の変革過程:75-92年」と題して、ベトナム戦争終結後のベトナムの政治・経済の変容を、冷戦の終息過程と関連づけながら、ベトナム側資料に依拠して実証的に説明するとともに、ポスト冷戦期における東南アジア政治の構図を理解する視角を提供した。第3回の研究会では、松岡が「東南アジア統合の模索-1950年代アメリカの同盟再編戦略」と題して、アイゼンハワー政権期を手がかりとしつつ、アメリカの戦後東南アジア政索をその国際戦略の文脈から理解する方向性を示した。その過程で松岡は、東南アジア政策に限らずアメリカの同盟再編戦略には、各国や各地域の多様性を容認し肯定するのではなく、アメリカ的な価値や社会体制を一方的に押しつける傾向があったとし、こうした傾向がアメリカをベトナム戦争に導く一つの要因になったことを併せて指摘した。これら研究会活動と並行し、参加者全員が常時国内で資料文献の収集に努めたほか、木之内が10月にイギリスに、11月にタイ、インドネシアに、石井が8月にアメリカ、カナダに、五島が10月にベトナムにそれぞれ出張した機会を利用して、本研究課題に関わる現地調査・資料収集に当たってきた。
