高度情報化社会の代表的存在と考えられるコンピュータ技術者の人格傾向、仕事上のストレスおよび精神的健康度と年齢、性別、婚姻状態などとの関係を明らかにすることを目的として、某大手電機メーカーのコンピュータ製造工場に勤務するコンピュータ技術者と事務職従業員を対象にして、自記式質問紙調査を実施した。その結果、男子コンピュータ技術者、事務職従業員両群において、境界性、演技性、自己愛性、依存性、自己敗北型、妄想性および分裂病型人格傾向、SDSおよびGHQ-30の得点が、年齢が上がるにつれ、有意に減少した。女子コンピュータ技術者の仕事の量的負担感や徹夜作業の回数および残業時間は、男子コンピュータ技術者より、有意に少なかったが、SDSの得点は有意に高かった。高度情報化社会における勤労者のライフスタイルと精神的健康度との関連を明かにするために、某大手精密機器メーカーの従業員を対象にして、自記式質問紙調査を実施した結果、健康習慣指数が高い、つまり望ましいライフスタイルであるほど、GHQ-28の総得点およびそのサブカテゴリーである、身体的症状、不安と不眠、および社会的活動障害の得点が低い、つまり精神的健康度が高かった。テクノ依存傾向、強迫性および回避性人格傾向を、日本人大学生とドイツ人大学生との間で比較し、異なる文化圏で情報化の影響が異なるかどうかを調べたところ、男子大学生では、テクノ依存傾向の1項目、強迫性人格傾向の1項目および回避性人格傾向の1項目で肯定した者の割合は、日本人がドイツ人に比べて有意に高かった。女子大学生では、テクノ依存傾向の1項目と、強迫性人格傾向の2項目で肯定した者の割合は、日本人がドイツ人に比べて有意に高かったが、回避性人格傾向の2項目と、強迫性人格傾向の1項目で肯定した者の割合は、ドイツ人が日本人に比べて有意に高かった。
