项目摘要

本研究は、重点領域研究「総合的地域研究の手法確立」のなかの計画研究班「総合的地域研究の概念」の公募研究として、平成5年度に引き続き計画されたものである。本年度も、学際的な視点に立ち、昨年度の研究を整理し、発展させる方向で、研究を進めた。具体的には、「総合的地域研究の概念」研究班との合同研究会をふくめ、2度にわたって研究会を開催した。研究会では、「ネットワークによる地域」の問題が本研究班の中心課題とされ、合同研究会でも、この課題が大きな論点となった。また、本研究の参加者は、それぞれの関心に応じて、「総合的地域研究の手法確立」プロジェクトで開催された他の研究会にも参加し、中東に限定されない、より一般的な視野のもとで、地域研究に関する資料収集および考察を行なった。研究会以外では、地域研究に関する知識獲得のため、昨年度に引き続き、中東およびイスラーム地域研究関連の資料の収集を行なったほか、イスラーム圏の諸言語におけるイスラーム的概念(=イスラーム的語彙)の伝播と変容を検証するための作業を実施した。本研究プロジェクトは本年度をもって終了となるが、研究会における討論で得られた成果や、2年間にわたる収集により得られた資料を用いて、今後本研究参加者は各自研究成果を公表する。イスラーム圏の諸言語に関する検証作業については、今後も継続され、最終的には本年度購入したパソコン・ソフトを用いてデータベース化をはかる予定である。
