项目摘要

1.名古屋市内やその周辺の二次林について、リターフォールの季節変化、構成樹種の葉緑素の充実と成長、フェノロジー、現存量などの調査。その生産力が、貧立地にもかかわらず予想外に大きいことを確認した。名古屋市近郊里山の具体的な保全利用計画立案に参画した。(只木)2.都市樹林地で、その活動による土壌気相中のCO_2濃度の垂直分布を調べ、樹林地の環境保全効果の実態を解明した。また、外気のCO_2濃度に応じた樹木のガス交換能力、すなわち光合成、呼吸、体内蓄積(成長)などの挙動を実験的に検討し、樹木や森林の存在と空中水分の関係についても実測した。(萩原)3.都市域と里山で、鳥類の種構成、個体数の相対出現頻度および両地区の類似度を比較した。都市域の鳥類相の大部分は、里山の鳥類相に起源を持ち、都市鳥類化は、里山→農村域→都市域の順に生じたと考えられる。これを確認するためには、さらに農村域の鳥類相を調査する必要がある。(斎藤)4.都市域およびその周辺域の緑地において、豊かな自然を維持するために土壌表層の管理が重要であるが、千葉・神奈川・東京の3都県下の緑地における65地点において「自然の豊かさ」の評価を行った。その結果、評価点は自然樹林地で高く、次いで人工林や竹林、草地では評価点は低かった。(青木)5.ヨシ原実験圃場での生物群集の変遷と水質の変化について追跡調査。植物相のみならず、実験圃場に飛来する昆虫類の季節的変化も観測した。諏訪湖湖畔の再自然化計画の立案にも参画。ヨシ原実験圃場その他の研究成果を生かして、湖内に生育する水生生物の視点からの造成計画を進めた。(沖野)6.過去3年間の研究成果を踏まえて、人工集中域の自然や緑地の望ましい姿を討議し、各人の研究成果とともに研究成果報告書(「人間地球系重点領域研究B008-EK23-18」)を刊行した。(全員)
