Justus Liebig University (JLU) Giessen has been supporting Open Access for a long time, among other things with a publication fund centrally administered by the university library. It was sponsored under the DFG program “Open Access Publishing” from 2012 - 2019. The funds now applied for are intended to further support Gold Open Access publications (journal articles, books) that are co-financed by the JLU Open Access publication fund as well as to compensate for potential additional payments for consortia transformative agreements. In addition, existing structures for standardized and automated monitoring of the number and costs of JLU's Open Access publications are to be further developed.
