项目摘要

1.普通小学校に在籍する精神薄弱児・肢体不自由児・聴覚障害児の学校生活への適応と教師の配慮、障害児の特性との関係を明らかにしようとした研究の結果、(1)精神薄弱児の場合、教師の配慮が高い程適応が良くないとなったが適応が良くない児童の方が多くの配慮を必要とするためと解釈されたし、配慮することが時としてマイナスに作用することもありうると考えられた。(2)肢体不自由児の場合IQが高くなること、上肢の障害が重くなる程適応が低くなる関係が見出された。通常下肢障害が適応にとって重視されることが多いことと比べ意外であった。(3)聴覚障害児の場合、IQと歴年齢が適応と深い関係にあることがわかった。全体として、教師の配慮がゆきとどく程子どもの適応が良いという単純な関係は見出せなかった。2.聾学校に在籍する聴覚障害児が周囲の微妙な状況を理解する能力は聾児の性格だけでなくその子をとりまく人達の反応にも影響を与え社会適応とも関連して重要な要因となるとの仮定に立ち、顔の表情を読みとる能力と性格特性との関係は社会適応にとっても重要で、その関係を明らかにしようとする研究の結果、顔の表情のテストで高い得点を得た者は教師の評定による性格特性のうち、根気強さ、情緒の安定性、自己中心性で望ましい評価を得ていることがわかった。全体的に聾児は適応性に欠けると同時に幼児の性格特性が残っていて、精神的未熟さがあると評価される傾向があった。今後は、これらで残された問題について研究が計画されている、例えば聴覚障害者の職場適応吃音児の学校適応についての研究が計画されている。
