本研究では、近年水質・水文環境や生態系の変化が著しい海跡湖において、環境の変化を総観的に捉え評価するため、湖岸・湖底の微地形分類を基礎として、湖岸低地・沿岸帯での土地・水域利用および地形改変に関する情報を「湖沼環境図」としてまとめた。本年度は霞ケ浦南岸および土浦入り北岸を対象とし、とくに沿岸帯における挺水植物群落の分布状況と、湖岸低地・沿岸帯での人間活動との関係について考察した。対象とした湖岸では、低地の約70%が水田や蓮田として利用され顕著な地形改変は認められない。しかし、沿岸帯では堤外の挺水植物群落地を切り開いた蓮田、漁港・養殖施設、砂利採取地などの地形改変地が44.6%に達し、湖岸低地に比較して地形改変を伴う土地・水域利用の度合いが高い。一方対象とした湖岸のうち、挺水植物群落地が良好に発達しているのは31%で、36%の湖岸では部分的にしか分布せず、残りの33%の湖岸では全く認められない。これらの挺水植物の分布状況と、湖岸地域の土地・水域利用および地形改変との関連について検討した結果、湖岸低地、沿岸帯とも顕著な地形改変が行われていない場合、その約80%の湖岸で挺水植物群落物地が良好に発達している。しかし湖岸低地で顕著な地形改変が認められなくとも、沿岸帯で何らかの地形改変が行われている場合は、その約70%の湖岸で挺水植物の分布は部分的であり、約30%の湖岸では全く認められない。また大規模改変地のうち、もとの湾入部を干拓した部分では挺水植物群落は良好に発達しているが、湖棚の部分に張り出して造成された干拓地や掘削地・埋め立て地の湖岸では、挺水植物は全く認められない。すなわち、挺水植物群落地の発達や分布は、湖岸低地や沿岸帯での土地・水域利用や地形改変の度合いと相反する傾向を持ち、特に沿岸帯での様々な人工施設の構築・設置や地形改変が、挺水植物群落地の良好な発達を強く規制していると考えられる。

This study is based on the information on water quality, hydrological environment and ecosystem change in recent years, including evaluation of lake environment, lake shore and lake bottom microtopography classification, lake shore lowland and coastal zone land and water use and topography change. This year, the distribution of aquatic plant communities in the coastal zone and the relationship between human activities in the coastal zone were investigated. About 70% of the lake shore and lowland are paddy fields, and the terrain is changed. 44.6% of the land use change occurred in the coastal zone and the coastal zone, and 44.6% of the land use change occurred in the coastal zone and the coastal zone.
