项目摘要

浮世絵画像データベースのためのインデクシングに関する研究を行なった。本研究を基礎づけるために、画像データベースシステムの枠組としてポピュレーション・インタフェース、検索インタフェース、ポピュレーション・ツール、検索ツール、データベース/知識ベースからなるシステム構造を定義し、本研究を四本のトラックに分け、各々のトラックを同時に進めた。この四本のトラックはカラーインデクシング法を浮世絵に応用する適性調査、カラーによる浮世絵の分割の調査、UIL言語のグラフィカル・ユーザ・インタフェース構築のための基礎調査、形状に基づく画像検索の調査であった。特に、カラー・インデクシング法の浮世絵への応用についての調査結果は下記の通りである。1)画像全体のカラーヒストグラムを使ったマッチングでは、似ている画像を高い類似度で示し、画像検索に有効である。2)モデルとして部分画像を用いた部分的なマッチングでは、部分画像の正しい位置を捜し出すことが困難だが部分画像と色が似ているところに高いマッチバリューを示す。この方法は部分画像を含む画像検索に有効であると考えられる。3)対象クラスによる部分的なマッチングでは、対象の箇所に高い類似度を示すが、対象以外の箇所にも、高い類似度を示すことがあった。同じような色の対象クラス(例えば、海と空)では、誤った画像を高いマッチバリューを示す順に並べた際10番目までの画像については、部分的なマッチングで85%、全体的なマッチングでは70%程度の検索成功率が期待できる。
