全マントル規模の上昇流の地球史を通じた調査を行うためには,造山帯中に付加した緑色岩の岩石学的研究および年代学的研究が必要となる.西南日本外帯のみかぶ帯について,このような観点から研究を行い,以下の成果を得た.みかぶ帯の緑色岩は,Nb/Zr比の低い岩石群とNb/Zr比の高い岩あるいは海台の玄武岩石群から構成される.Nb/Zr比の低い岩石群は関東山地から四国までの広い地域に分布し,ソレアイト系列に属する.微量成分全岩組成の特徴は,中央海嶺玄武岩に類似する.Nb/Zr比の高い岩石群は,四国東部の剣山地域にのみ観察され,アルカリ岩系列に属する.微量成分全岩組成の特徴は,大洋島玄武岩に類似し,斑晶晶出順序と合わせて考えると,ハワイのような大洋島起源の海山が付加したものと考えられる。関東山地から四国地方まで広く分布するNb/Zr比の低い岩石群の起源を特定するため,緑色岩から火成起源角閃石を分離し,K-Ar法を用いて放射年代を測定した.関東山地のK-Ar年代は,199Ma(誤差10Ma),紀伊半島鳥羽地域の年代は142〜153Ma(誤差は最大で8Ma),四国東部地域のK-Ar年代は143〜186Ma(誤差は最大で10Ma)であった.みかぶ帯を主に構成するNb/Zr比の低い岩石群の形成場は,単一の海台あるいは単一のホットスポットから導かれた海山列ではない.起源の同一性・分布範囲・年代幅を考慮すると,約3000kmにおよぶ活動範囲と少なくとも60Maの活動期間をもつ火成活動により形成された海山群が想定され,その成因として全マントル規模の上昇流による活動が示唆される.

The study of petrology and chronology of green rocks in orogenic belt is necessary for the investigation of the history of the earth with upwelling on a full scale. The following results have been obtained from the research on the southwest Japan outer belt. The composition of the basaltic rock group in the eastern part of the Yangtze River and the eastern part of the Yangtze River is similar to that of the basaltic rock group in the eastern part of the Yangtze River and the eastern part of the Yangtze River. Trace composition characteristics of the whole rocks are as follows: rocks with high Nb/Zr ratios similar to those of the Central Ridge basalts, and rocks with high Nb/Zr ratios similar to those of the Central Ridge basalts. The trace composition of the whole rock is similar to that of the oceanic island basalts, and the order of occurrence of the speckled crystals is similar to that of the oceanic island basalts. The origin of rocks with low Nb/Zr ratios in the Kanto Mountains was determined by the K-Ar method. The K-Ar age of the Kanto Mountains is 199Ma(error is 10Ma), the Toba area of the Kii Peninsula is 142 ~ 153Ma(error is maximum 8Ma), and the K-Ar age of the eastern Shikoku area is 143 ~ 186Ma(error is maximum 10Ma). The formation field of the low Nb/Zr ratio rock group is mainly composed of a single seamount and a single seamount. The identity of origin, distribution, age and amplitude are considered. About 3000km, the activity range is less than 60Ma, and the activity period is less than 60Ma.
