人工構造物質における異常磁気伝導現象を探究し,金属磁性細線における磁壁の電流駆動,半導体2次元電子系の超構造における異常磁気伝導現象,量子ホール系におけるスピン依存伝導,擬2次元系層状物質における角度依存磁気抵抗効果などに関して新たな知見を得た.また,伝導電子系にスピン軌道相互作用やスピン反転散乱が働く場合のスピン緩和などスピントロニクスにおける根本的問題に関する理論を構築した.
