Cancer is a mass of cells that has lost a normal cell cycle control. In human cancer cells, i) abnormality in cell cycle regulatory pathway and ii) destabilization of genome are observed as their hallmarks. Cyclin-dependent kinases, CDKs, not only regulate the progression of cell cycle, but also play a central role in limiting chromosome DNA replication to once per cell cycle. This research reveals that CDK regulates multiple factors for the initiation of DNA replication and having the multiple regulatory mechanisms is important for the stable genome maintenance.

癌症是一种失去正常细胞周期控制的细胞群。在人类癌细胞中，观察到i）细胞周期调节途径的异常和ii）基因组的不稳定作为其标志。细胞周期蛋白依赖性激酶（CDK）不仅调节细胞周期的进程，而且在限制染色体DNA复制到每个细胞周期一次中起核心作用。本研究揭示了CDK对DNA复制启动的多因子调控，其多重调控机制对基因组的稳定维持具有重要意义。
