项目摘要

「中国書画の印刷出版環境をめぐる諸問題の文化史的研究」の成果報告の一部として、「中国の書画伝来の一側面〜真跡から印刷へ〜」について考察した。書画の世界では、「真跡」は一点しか書き残さない、と考えるのが通例である。現存する王献之の「書跡」はすべて尺牘であり、同一の手紙を複数通書き残したとは考えられないからである。それゆえ書跡(墨跡本)は珍奇であり貴重である。古代の中国人は、一点しか現存しない「真跡」を、永久に手元において置くためや、学書の対象とするためには、どうしても「搨模本」や「臨写本」といった「副本」を作成しなければならなかった。それゆえ唐代では「搨模」が行われ、専門の「搨書人」を宮中に抱えたのである。宋代以降は、書画の文化が市民に浸透し、大衆化が進む中で、多くの書画愛好者が登場し、「刻本(翻刻本)」が数多く出現した。宋代の《淳化閣帖》原刻(992)、《大観帖》(1109)、《絳帖》(刻年不明)、《二王帖》(1206)、明代の《宝賢堂集古法帖》、陳元瑞《玉煙堂帖》、《餘〓齋法帖》続編(1613)、清代の楊守敬《鄰蘇園帖》、江標模刻などはみな《鴨頭丸帖》を刻入している。この文化現象は、一点しか現存しない「真跡」を少しでも多くの収蔵家が共有するための手段にほかならない。そして清末以降、「印刷本,(影印本)」が流布するようになるが、これもより多くの一般の愛好者に廉価で供するためだったのである。このように考えると、書画真跡の「墨跡本」の伝来は、「搨模本」や「臨写本」といった「複本」を作成する目的から出発して、「刻本」へ、さらに「印刷本」へと大衆化の流れを辿って来たと言える。言い換えれば、中国の印刷出版環境全体を象徴する変遷になろう。
