Managent of Boundaries and Japanese Firms Innonation

本研究以资讯通讯、汽车、生物科技等产业为研究对象，透过“边界管理”的视角，探讨企业如何进行创新。总体而言，我们的研究表明，为了实现创新和竞争优势，重要的是将边界管理为多层次和动态的，而不是给定的和静态的，日本企业需要提高这种管理的能力。同时，本研究也表明，基于“边界管理”视角的进一步研究是有价值和前景的。

This research project conducted a series of empirical studies to understand how firms carry out innovations from an over-arching perspective of"management of boundaries"in the field of information and communication, automobile, and biotechnology industries. Over all, our studies indicated that it would be important to manage boundaries as multi-layered and dynamic, rather than given and static, in order to achieve innovation and competitive advantage, and Japanese firms need to improve their capabilities for such management. Also, this project showed that further research based on the perspective of"management of boundaries"would be valuable and promising.
