本共同研究では、年間4回の研究会および研究協力者を主とする小数メンバ-でのの予備検討会、ならびに日本産業技術史学会との協力によるシンポジウム1回を行い、下記のような事項を討議した。スミソニアン協会に代表される研究・博物館経営・知識の普及を結合し、総合的に推進する組織をつくる方法、イギリスのトラスト機構のように研究と保存の両立をさぐる活動、フランスのいくつかの大型国公立(準ずるものを含む)博物館が行っているように学会、企業との積極的な提携によって研究活動と対社会活動の範囲をより拡大すると同時に財政的にも双方の利を図る方法などをはじめとする欧米の事例を中心として事例資料の収集ならびに関連情報の所有者からの聞き取りによって検討を重ねた。検討過程では大学院教育を含む後継研究者の育成問題にも若干ふれた。討論の結果をもとに、わが国での産業技術史研究の実状を再考してみると、専門研究者の間でさえ産業技術史の理解がまだかなり狭義であり、広範な理解を示している場合でもせいぜい経済、経営史をはじめとする社会科学の特定部分まででとどまっていることが明らかになった。将来に於て国際的な研究協力を成立させるには、より広範な周辺諸領域との関連づけまで研究対象を拡張する必要がある。その実現には、まだいくつかの大きな障害ともいえる事項が存在する。話題となった例を1、2示すと、広い視野をもって研究を推進できる研究者の育成、研究者と企業間での情報交換・交流がよりおこない易い形で実施できる場と機会の確保・拡充などである。

This joint research was conducted in four sessions of the Research Council and the Research Collaborators, and the preparatory discussion meeting and the cooperation meeting of the Japan Industrial and Technological History Association were held in one session. Research, Museum Management, Knowledge Popularization, Integration, Organization, Methods, Research, Preservation, Organization, Activities, Research and Development, and Large National Public Institutions Museums are involved in activities such as research, social activities, and financial activities. The process of discussion includes several aspects of post-graduate education. The results of the discussion are re-examined in the context of the study of the history of industry and technology in China, and the understanding of the history of industry and technology among researchers in the field is shown in the specific part of social science in the narrow sense. In the future, international research cooperation will be established, and the research objectives will be expanded. There is no such thing as a problem.
