Necessary ethical approvals and Material Transfer Agreement have been obtained to conduct the study. A Nigeria PhD student, studying under the principal investigator at Nagasaki University visited Nigeria CDC to conduct the DNA extraction from 251 Hepatitis B positive samples and transported to Nagasaki University. The epidemiological information database of the viral hepatitis positive subjects has been obtained from Nigeria CDC.
