Reconfigurable MicroPhotonic Processor

本研究旨在研究一种新型的可重构微光子处理器，能够同时执行多个光学功能。在这个项目中，研究特别集中在未来密集波分复用（DWDM）光网络的可重构光分插复用（ROADM）。MicroPhotonic架构的重要性在于它可以添加/删除单个或多个波长通道，并且可以扩展到数十个通道，同时保持低插入损耗和低串扰。其结果将是一个新的可重构的MicroPhotonic ROADM架构，克服了现有的缩放瓶颈，处理数百个DWDM通道。

This research aims to study a new reconfigurable MicroPhotonic processor capable of performing many optical functions simultaneously. In this project, research is particularly focused on reconfigurable optical add/drop multiplexing (ROADM) for future Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexed (DWDM) optical networks. The significance of the MicroPhotonic architecture is that it can add/drop a single or multiple wavelength channels, and can scale to tens of channels while maintaining low insertion loss and low crosstalk. The outcome will be a new reconfigurable MicroPhotonic ROADM architecture which overcomes existing scaling bottlenecks for processing hundreds of DWDM channels.
