9.1. Performance of ATM multicast switch with separate mutes depending on unicast cell/multicast cellThis paper proposes a new architecture for the ATM multicast switch, which makes unicast cells and multicast cells inputted to the corresponding separate mutes before the point to point routing network. By reducing excess load of the copy network, this new multicast switch can make mean system time smaller than one of a model which is a serial combination of a copy network and a routing. In addition, we also show the simulation of the cell loss probability in our proposed model.92. Input and output queueing ATM switch with two speedup factorsInput and output queueing ATM switch model with two speedup factors to decrease cell loss probability is proposed. In the proposed model, large speedup factor is basically used, however, small speedup factor is adopted when in the previous time slot the output queue exceeds the threshold. We analyze the mean waiting time and the cell loss probability under uniform traffic. As a results, we show that the proposed model is useful to decrease the cell loss probability without increase the cell loss probability without increasing the mean waiting time excessively.9.3. Performance analysis of input and output queueing ATM switch under changeable hot-spot trafficSwitch performances of input and output queueing ATM switch under the changeable hot-spot traffic is analyzed. In the changeable hot-spot traffic, the number of hot-spot, its location and the deviation of traffic is changeable. This traffic is close to the realistic traffic model compared with the conventional hot-spot traffic. We analyze the cell loss probability and mean system delay for this switch and traffic models and show numerical results for the cell loss performance under various traffic conditions. And the influence of the hot-spot traffic on the cell loss performance are shown.
