標記研究課題に関し、研究計画書に基づき研究を遂行し、以下の結果を得ることができた。1. 従来、ヒトの左右大脳半球での機能分化として定説化されている特徴は、右脳が視覚的、立体的空間認知を得意とし、全体的ではあるが拡散的な知能を有するのに対し左脳では言語機能や連続性と順序づけ、系列化を得意とする分析的、特殊的知能を有することである。これらの機能分担に基づき、右脳と左脳を各々特異的に作動させる問題として作成、報告されている設問のうち、50問からなる右脳左脳別IQテストを用意し、男女大学生に解答させた。文系大学の男子500人、女子250人に実施した結果、単純な数値比較では右脳左脳別IQテスト結果に性差は認められなかった。理系大学生にも実施したが、被検女子学生数が少ないため、性差の検定は実行できなかった。しかしながら、理系と文系男子学生間では、IQテスト結果に差異が認められる問題があるので、有意差か否かを、数種類の統計処理法により検討している。2. 本年度は、文系大学生にIQテスト実施と同時に、理科嫌いのアンケート調査を実施した。アンケート内容は、どの理系科目が嫌いか、その理由は何か、嫌いになった時期はいつ頃か、どのようにしたら好きになれると思うかなどを、記述式で答えてもらった。これらの答えと、IQテスト結果との間の相関関係について現在分析中である。アンケート結果の全体的傾向としては、生物以外の理科科目が嫌いであり、理由は授業内容、あるいは教師の教授法に問題ありとしている。
