项目摘要

今年度は、前年度に行ったイタリア調査の成果を発表した。2014年6月30日から7月4日までスウェーデンのストックホルムにおいて開催された、第22回南アジア考古学美術史学会（The European Association for South Asian Archaeology and Art, 22st　）において「ガンダーラの新出トリートーン像の研究（A Study on a newly-found Triton image from Gandhara）」と題し、研究発表を行った。この学会発表では、昨年度のイタリア調査によって得た資料を用いて、新出のガンダーラ仏教彫刻に表現された、イルカを双肩に担ぐトリートーン像の起源と、そのガンダーラ仏教彫刻における変遷を考察し、これまで誰も考察していないガンダーラ仏教彫刻のトリートーン像の意義を明らかにした。この研究発表の内容については、学会の研究報告集（proceedings）を英文論文にまとめ、投稿し受理された。また、日本語でもまとめ、雑誌『佛教藝術』340号に掲載される予定である。その後、8月18日から23日までオーストリアのウィーンにおいて開催された第17回国際仏教学学会（the 17th Congress of the International Association of Buddhist Studies、通称IABS)に出席した。この学会では、ガンダーラ仏教彫刻のみならず、仏教学についても意見を交換し、知見を広げることができた。特に、ロンドン大学の東洋アフリカ研究学院（the School of Oriental and African Studies、通称 SOAS）のCh. Luczanits氏からは、貴重な資料を提供していただき、上記の学会の研究報告集に投稿した論文において使用した。
