2014年度に実施した調査結果の分析を行った。聞き取り調査の結果、普及指導事業においては、林業経営の普及は主に森林組合を通じて行われていた。森林組合は広報誌や会合を利用して情報伝達を行っており、森林経営計画については施業受託地の周辺から広げていく戦略をとっていた。組合員アンケートの結果でも、森林組合の広報誌や会合が主な情報伝達経路であることが裏づけられた。しかし、森林組合員という情報伝達の機会が多いと思われる対象にアンケート票調査を行ったにも関わらず、経営計画や補助金に関する認知度は 3割程度である。一方で、情報を取得していない林家の約 4 割は情報を取得する手段を知らないからであり、より強い働きかけによって情報伝達が改善される可能性が示唆された。組合員アンケートの結果から木材生産行動決定の推定モデルを作成したところ、利用間伐に関しては経営計画の認知に加えて相談相手が重要であると示唆された。このことから、対人でより強い情報伝達の働きかけが可能な形態として、コンサルティングが有効な可能性を指摘した。また、林家に関する先行研究のレビューによって、林家の林業経営に影響を与える要素の整理から、林家の林業経営原理の構造的把握を行った。最も直接的に施業あるいは委託の判断に影響する要素としては、関心、自家労力、素材価格、費用が挙げられた。多くの要素は関心あるいは自家労力に影響を与える形で林業経営に影響していた。自家労力の投入量は家計生産モデルによって説明することができ、自家労力に影響を与える要因は林業とそれ以外の活動の限界効用曲線を変化させるものとして理解できた。そのほか、各要素についても相互関係について整理を行った。研究上の課題としては、多くの研究では造林補助金を林業経営の前提として捉えており、林家が補助金を利用するに至る経緯はほとんど明らかにされていないことを指摘した。
