採択時、COVID-19感染が収束しつつあり、リモート夫立会い出産の希望者が減ってきた、あるいはその受け入れを中止した分娩施設が出てきたため、申請時の研究計画を再検討し、次のように修正した。すなわち、研究１の研究題目を「リモートで夫立会い出産を体験した産婦並びに夫の出産体験」として、研究デザインを質的記述的研究デザインとした。その研究目的は、リモートで夫立会い出産を体験した産婦並びに夫の出産体験と出生児への思い、当事者の立場からのリモートでの立会い出産の改善点について明らかにすることとした。この研究１の研究計画を2022年10月に研究代表者の所属施設の倫理審査委員会に申請した。倫理審査委員会の承認後、2022年11月から、先行研究で研究協力施設となったリモート夫立会い出産をしていると標榜していた施設に研究協力の依頼をした結果、4施設から協力の承諾が得られた。3施設は施設を介した個別の封書による研究参加者募集で、１施設はポスター掲示のみであったが、12月から研究参加者の募集を行った。しかしながら、研究参加者が予定数の半分にも満たなかったため、2023年2月からオンライン育児支援会社のSNSにて研究参加者を募集した。2023年3月31日現在　研究１の参加者は夫婦5組、妻のみ2人で合計12人であった。その後の4月面接調査予定者は夫婦１組、夫のみ1人の3人であり、合計15名となる予定である。COVID-19感染拡大下で急遽行われたリモート夫立会い出産であったので、研究参加者は得られにくい状況にあったが、貴重なデータを得ることができている。
