项目摘要

学術振興会の支援のおかげで、調査研究とフィールドワークを遂行することができた。具体的には、神楽をつうじて信仰の実践がおこなわれているさまざまな地域への調査旅行、古代の神楽の実践にかんする知識をもっている、主たる研究者との交流をおこなうことができた。また、インタビュー、撮影などの資料も蓄積することができた。具体的にいうと、松江市と出雲市を訪問して調査をおこない、神事の記録をおこなった。松江市においては、島根大学、島根県立大学ほかにおいての文献調査をおこなって、島根県における神楽研究の全体像を把握することができた。さらに、出雲一宮である佐太神社において実践されている、佐陀神能の記録をおこなうことができた。佐太神社では、出雲以外の地域から、神楽のグループをまねいて、複数の神楽を共演させるというイベントも開催された。そのイベントを記録することによって、出雲地域における神楽享受および神楽理解の一様相に、あらたにふれることができた。また、京都府内の天橋立にある智恩寺、京都府内の岩清水八幡宮などを訪問し、神職へのインタビューをおこなうことができた。ここでは、神仏習合の思想を学ぶことができた。日本の神楽は、神道だけではなく、仏教の儀礼とも深くまじわっているということが理解できた。文献収集にかんしては、早稲田大学、南山大学の図書館を訪問して、文化人類学や宗教学を中心にして、必要な文献を集めることができた。また、初年度を総括するために、「ボリ」と呼ばれるアフリカの儀礼音楽と日本の神楽を比較研究するための公開講座を開催した。そこでは、日本で活躍する北アフリカ音楽の演奏者・研究者、神楽の映画を作成したプロデューサーなどとの対話を深めて、２つの離れた文化の実践を比較することの意義と可能性が確認された。
