本年度は、アートと医療に関わる文献研究と、インタヴュー調査、参与観察を行なった。前半は、アメリカ西海岸を中心に「ソーシャリー・エンゲイジド・アート」と呼ばれるような社会的なアート実践を行なってきたアーティストによる「メンタルヘルス」に関わる取り組みについて、日本における滞在制作を行う診療所の担当者を交えて主にオンラインで調査を行った。そこで、日本において「社会的処方」の取り組みをいち早く取り入れる本診療所が、地域とどのように関わろうとしているのか、アーティストによるどのような試みに関心を持っているのかを追った。また秋には滞在制作、主にワークショップにおいて、どのようにアーティストが診療所側の意向を採り入れたり、参加者の様子や反応に注意を払っているのかに着目し参与観察を行った。後半は、医療や福祉の現場における芸術文化実践の「評価」に着目し調査研究を行った。先述の事例はイギリスの財団からの助成を受けており、実施に際して財団側とのやりとりや成果報告が必要となる。イギリスでは2000年代初頭から「芸術文化」の価値をいかに測るかについての議論が、とくにArts in Healthの分野などを中心に高まってきた。当時のイギリスでは、公的資金を受けた活動の実際的な効果を「実証」できていないという危機感が文化芸術関係者の多くに共有されており「文化的価値」を測る厳密な方法論が求められていた。そのような背景をふまえ、日本の診療所でアメリカ人アーティストが行うアート実践を、いかにイギリスの財団へ報告するのか、アートとしての評価と、福祉的な評価はどのように関係し合うのか調査研究を進め、12月にはAnthropology of Japan in JapanのAnnual Meetingにおいて、それまでの研究内容を報告した。

In the second half of the year, the "evaluation" of the cultural practice of medical care and well-being was carried out. The above examples include financial assistance, implementation, financial support and results reporting. In the early 2000s, the value of "art culture" was measured in the middle of the discussion, and the distinction between Arts in Health was high in the center. At that time, public funds were received, and the actual results of activities were "verified". There were many people who felt crisis and cultural relations. There were many common methods for measuring "cultural value". The background of the survey was reported to the Annual Meeting of Anthropology of Japan in December.
