今年度は, 昭和60年度の沖繩本島・久米島地区, 昭和61年度の宮古・八重山地区において実施した「家族の実態と意識に関する調査」の集計結果を各班・全体会議等で解析・検討するとともに, 過去2年間の各自担当領域の調査研究成果の発表と相互の意見交換を重ねながら研究を進めた.その結果, 戦後沖繩における産業経済および社会の展開様式には, 27年余も続いた米国統治が大きく影響し, それは現在でも完全に払拭されてないなことが確認された. 同時に, 復帰後の社会変動も著しく, 政治・経済・社会・文化の諸相において「本土化」の様相が強くなっていることも確認された. したがって, 家族生活や親族組織等も変容の過程にあり, 家族問題も多様化・複雑化している. しかし, 生活や行動様式の基層においては, 沖繩的特性の残存も認められる. また, 当該問題の関連領域の総体においては本土化=標準化傾向が強くみられるものの, 人口・家族構成, 就業構造, 相続形態, 配偶者選択, ユタへの対応等においては沖繩内部における地域的差異も依然として存在することが確認された.
