项目摘要

In this study, the smelting reduction rate of chromite ore was measured in graphite crucible. The determining rate of smelting reduction for pure chromium oxide was obtained as the supply of sample and/or the reduction degree held on approximately 100% charged continuously onto iron melts.Two kinds of chromite ore, south african ore and philippine ore, were used for the experiments to be increasing up to the rate of pure chromium oxide. The chromite ore was scarcely dissolved into iron melt at 1600゜C, and its rate was nearly 1/50 as compared with pure chromium oxide.The addition of iron ore powder or lower melting fluxes into chromite ore pellet had no effect on the smelting reduction.The smelting reduction rate of chromite ore was accelerated by dissolving the chromite ore in the molten slag. The smelting reduction was determined by the chemical reduction on the slag-metal boundary layer and it was independent on slag basicity.The apparent activation energy of smelting reduction for chromite ore dissolved and reacted in the boundary molten slag and metal obtained as 57.4 kcal/mol.
