日本は木の風土の国で、伝統建築は全て木造の建築であり、日本人は古来「木」というものに独得の感性を培ってきた。現代の、鉄筋コンクリートを主とする構造の建築空間においても、内装あるいは造作材として、木は重要な役割を果しており、日本人の感性にとって木の「風合い」は生き続けているといえる。本研究では、この「木風合い」に関して、建築家、建築史家、農学者、建築材科学あるいは構法学者としての多様な専門分野から、それぞれの研究歴を通しての実績を基に会議を行い、いくつかの問題点を討議し今後の研究の方向を探った。その内容は次の三点に要約される。1.木風合いの歴史的形容方法:主に京都周辺に残る日本伝統建築の空間の視覚イメージの分析(内藤・岡島他)、日本と西洋の空間認識の相違について(清家)2.現代における木風合いを旨とする設計:長野県における民家の復元・再生例(清家)、学校建築への木の利用の方法(小原)3.木風合いの物理的実験:動物実験によって、木質空間と他材料の空間とで、その死亡率に多きな差が出ている旨報告された(竹村他)、木室空間の音のスペクトル解析の方法(吉田)本研究は、人間とその素材環境との関係を総合的に取り扱おうとするもので、それぞれ異なる分野の研究者がその専門分野において研究を進めながらも、その成果を報告し合い、互いに触発され、木風合いといった問題にも、何らかのまとまりのある結論に近づきつつあり、その意義は大きいと評価され、今後も継続して研究を進めることとなっている。

Japan's traditional architecture is full of wooden buildings, Japanese people are ancient "wood" and unique sensibility. Modern, iron and steel construction of the main structure of the building space, interior, construction materials, wood and important service cut fruit, Japanese sensibility, wood and "wind" and production. This research is related to architects, architectural historians, agronomists, and architectural materials scientists. It is divided into many different fields, and the research results are discussed at the conference. The content of the article is divided into three parts. 1. Description of the history of Kikyoto: Analysis of the spatial vision of Japanese traditional architecture around Kyoto (Naito Okajima), Japan and Western space understanding of the conflict between the two (Kiyojia) 2. Modern design of the wood wind in the middle of the design: Nagano, the restoration of the people's home·regeneration example (Kiyojia), school building wood utilization method (Ohara) 3. Wood wind in the middle of the physical practice: The present study is aimed at integrating the relationship between the material environment and human beings. The results of this study are as follows: (1) A report on the difference between the space and the mortality of animals in the wood space and other materials (2) A method for analyzing the sound in the wood space (3) The researchers in different fields have made progress in their research, reported on their achievements, contacted each other, and discussed the problems and conclusions of their research. In the future, we will continue our research.
