The main theme aims to present a fresh image about the history of the medieval industryby the may of the historical archeology. The research of excavation at Echizen kilns(Dakenotani, Taira, Oda-machi, Fukui-ken.) reveal the following three points:1. There existed about fifty kiln sites at Taira region, where jars and mortare were mainly produced during the period be-tween 16th and the middle 17th century. 2. Kilns were reformed to king-sized tunnel-styled ones which were more than 26 meters the full length, have the high officiency of heat and were fitted for the mass production. 3. One kiln was worked during some decades and rive kilns or so were the production unit for a century.These demonstrate the structure of production at Echizen kilns which were controled a market over a quarter part of the Japanese Archipelago including districts from Hokuriku to Hokkaido.

其主旨是借助历史考古学的力量，对中世纪的工业史进行一个新的形象展示。越前窑（Dakenotani，Taira，Oda-machi，Fukui-ken）的发掘研究揭示了以下三点：1.平地区约有50处窑址，主要生产罐和陶罐，时间为世纪中期。2.将窑改造成全长26米以上、热效率高、适合大批量生产的特大型隧道窑。3.一个窑工作了几十年，河窑或一个世纪左右的生产单位。这些表明了越前窑的生产结构，它控制了日本列岛四分之一的市场，包括从北陆到北海道的地区。
